Lymphatic Drainage ~
Does your body need a spring cleaning?
Within the Body Talk System, Lymph is arguably one of the most important systems in the protocol ranking above the nervous and circulatory systems as it has it's own place in main spine of the chart as well as found with all the other systems. It even has its own technique that involves an entire weekend to learn.
The lymphatic system is an understated system especially in North America where normally pieces of it are systematically removed from childhood starting with tonsils. Even spleens are removed. With cancer treatments lymph nodes removal is thought to reduce metastasis. Our immune response comes from the lymphatic system, so it's counter intuitive to extract pieces of it for a healthy body. My dad was quite adamant that tonsils had a purpose so despite my continued rounds with tonsillitis I still have mine where the common practice when I was 12 was tonsillectomy.
Lymph works in tandem with the circulatory system as interstitial fluid surrounding the cells enters into the lymphatic vessels to be processed by the lymph nodes which contain immune cells like killer Ts and macrophages. The spleen manufactures B cells, which also helps kill germs.
