Seriously what would you buy at Giant Nerd? Or Poler Stuff? Or Atmosphere?
Giant Nerd I'd expect to buy my chemistry kits and perhaps Giant microbes, but not bikes or snowboards. Many of my WoW friends were duped by the title as well, so I am not alone! I mean look at the logo, does anything about this say I'm a hard core outdoors person who writes gear reviews to be shared with friends? Apparently, they are nerdy because they are into Social Shopping and very technical people.
At Poler Stuff I'd look for 7" stilettos and booty shorts but not sporting goods. Come on no one except pole dancers use the term poler spelled poler. I'm not sure what the logo means. The best I could come up with is that the furry tent is at the top of the world. Still not sure how that relates to outdoor gear. Unless you can buy a furry tent at Poler.
The name Atmosphere sounds like an air quality testing company well to me anyway. The logo though is a lot more clear. It looks like either a sunset and a tent or a road in the mountains. I can understand that this company probably sells sporting goods.
I like obvious names like Mountain Equipment Co-op, Karst Sports, Sport Mart, Sport Chek. When I go to those stores I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to find there. The former name of Atmosphere was Coast Mountain Sports, which is a funny name for a Calgary company. For those with geography as bad as mine, Calgary, Alberta, is about 1200 km from the Pacific ocean.
